Our core principles, and how each one works

Why does the same round trip leave one $1,000 position $69.23 ahead of another?

The short version

Price runs from 100 to 125, then slides back to 100. A traditional rebalance leaves your $1,000 at $835.74. A snuggle leaves it at $904.96.

The gap comes from a few plain rules: no swap, no slippage, no swap to sandwich. Here is each principle, what it does, and what it can't do. All figures are illustrative, not a promise, and trading fees earned are left out.

The principles

Nine rules, one small picture each

1 · Zero swap fees

No swap, so no swap fee

A traditional rebalance sends USDG through a swap that charges the pool's 1% fee. A snuggle moves the same USDG straight into a new range: no swap, no swap fee.Traditional rebalanceUSDGswap−1%DELL + USDGSnuggleUSDGno swap, $0 feenew range

A snuggle re-places your range using only the token you already hold. Nothing is traded, so no swap fee is paid.

2 · No slippage

Liquidity goes beside the price, not through it

Left: a swap pushes the price along as it fills, so later units cost more. Right: a snuggle adds liquidity just past the price and the price marker does not move.A swapprice pushedagainst youA snugglepriceprice stays putno impact

A swap moves the price against you as it fills. A snuggle adds liquidity just past the price, so there is no price impact to pay.

3 · No sandwich of a snuggle's swap

No swap for bots to sandwich

Top: a public swap can be squeezed by a bot buying just before and selling just after. Bottom: a snuggle removes and re-adds liquidity with no swap in the middle, after the vault's 30-minute average price check.A public swapbot buysyour swapbot sellsA snuggleavg checkexit rangenew range

A snuggle has no swap to squeeze. It is still a public transaction and pool prices can still be pushed, so the vault checks the 30-minute average price (TWAP) before placing your range.

4 · Keeper-paid gas

Automatic snuggles: the keeper pays the gas

An automatic snuggle is sent by the keeper, and the keeper pays the network gas. Snuggle now is signed by you, and you pay the network gas.Auto snugglegas: keepersends and paysSnuggle nowgas: youyou sign it

When Auto Snuggle moves your range, our keeper sends the transaction and pays its gas. Press Snuggle now yourself and you sign it, so you pay the network gas.

5 · No lock-up

Withdraw any time, even during a pause

A timeline with withdraw arrows open on every day, including a stretch where the vault is paused. Withdraw keeps working throughout.vault pausedwithdraw: open every day

There is no waiting period and no approval step. Withdraw cannot be paused: it keeps working even while the vault is paused. Your position lives on-chain — on the chain where you opened it — so you can withdraw directly from the vault contract at any time, even if the QuantumPools site or team is gone.

6 · Auto Snuggle

Out of range and past your delay, then it snuggles

Timeline: price leaves the range, then your delay runs. The keeper checks roughly every 1 to 3 minutes. The snuggle lands at the first check after the delay has passed, while price is still out of range.price leavesyour delaysnuggledots: keeper checks, about every 1–3 min

With Auto Snuggle on, the keeper checks about every 1 to 3 minutes, best effort. It snuggles only once price is out of range and your delay has passed.

7 · Fees

No charge for the action. 15% of fees collected, capped at 30%

Every $100 of trading fees collected

Dashed line: the 30% hard cap. The rate can never pass it.

8 · One-sided ranges

A one-token deposit works like a limit order

A one-token deposit of USDG sits in a range just below the price. It earns nothing yet. If price moves down into it, it starts earning and buys DELL as price crosses.USDG onlypriceearns nothing until price entersnothing swapped

Deposit one token and it opens a range just past price. Nothing is swapped. It earns nothing until price enters it, and the keeper leaves it alone until then.

9 · Auto Hedge

Optional, off by default

A Hedge switch, shown in its default Off position, with a note that it is paper only today.HEDGEOffpaper only

Positions holding WETH show a Hedge on/off switch. Today it is a paper (simulated) ETH short: no real order is placed. See the app for details.

The centrepiece

Lock the loss in, or let price come back to you

Your $1,000 sits at 100 in a 90–110 range. Price runs to 125, so your DELL sells on the way up at an average of $104.88. Now there are two ways to move.

Snuggle: price runs from 100 to 125, leaving the 90 to 110 range. Nothing is swapped. The USDG waits in 102.27 to 125.00, just below price. As price slides back to 100 it buys DELL gradually, at an average of $113.07.10011090125time → · DELL price, illustrativeyour range 90–110buys at avg $113.07snuggle 102.27–125no swapbuys rest at avg $118.59traditional 112.50–137.50swap at 125−$7.36sold at avg$104.88

Back at 100: what the $1,000 is worth

The rebalance buys back at the top and pays to swap. The snuggle buys back only if price comes back, and lower.

Worked example

One round trip, worked out

$1,000 at 100 in 90–110 holds 4.7558 DELL + $524.42 USDG. At 125 it is all USDG: $1,023.21, while just holding would be $1,118.89. That $95.68 gap already happened on the way out.

Traditional rebalance

swap $490.48 × 1.5% = $7.36
→ 3.8650 DELL at 125
range 112.50–137.50
rest at √(112.50 × 125) = $118.59
at 100: 8.3574 DELL = $835.74
vs holding: −$164.26

Snuggle

swap: none, $0.00
1,023.21 USDG waits
range 102.27–125.00
fill √(102.27 × 125) = $113.07
at 100: 9.0496 DELL = $904.96
vs holding: −$95.04

Price never comes back? At 125 the snuggle keeps $1,023.21 and the rebalance $1,015.86: the same $95.68 loss, plus $7.36 of swap costs. The rebalanced range sits around price and can earn fees there; the snuggle range earns nothing until price enters it.

Swap cost = the live pool's 1% fee + 0.5% assumed slippage. Snuggle range: same width, top edge at price. Fees earned left out. Illustrative, not a promise.

Solana · in development

Same principles, built for Raydium's pools

QuantumPools on Solana is in development. It is not live, it has not been audited, and you cannot deposit on Solana today.

The design keeps every rule above for Raydium's concentrated-liquidity pools (CLMM). A snuggle still needs no swap. The details differ.

Top: one Raydium tick array holds 60 ticks. Bottom: the price record only adds an observation when at least 15 seconds have passed since the last one; a swap 6 seconds later is not recorded. One tick array = 60 ticksPrice record: one observation per 15 s or more0 s6 s17 s25 s40 sskipped

Honest limits

What a snuggle is, and what it is not

What it is

  • A way to move your range with no swap: no swap fee, no slippage, no swap to sandwich.
  • A patient buyback: if price comes back, you rebuy at the range's average, not the top.

What it is not

  • A loss eraser. The $95.68 happened when price left the range.
  • A promise price returns. In a trend, the snuggle range earns nothing.
  • Risk-free. It is public, pool price risk remains, and you pay gas on what you sign.

Leaving a range alone has no swap cost either, and a full return undoes its loss, but it earns nothing while out. The vaults are audited by Hashlock and public deposits are open on the live venues (Robinhood Chain, Base and BNB Chain): see Audit & Security.
