Performance & Fees

One charge, taken from one place: the trading fees your position collects. Here is how much, when, where it goes, and what stops it from changing overnight.

5 min readAll levels

In short

  • Liquidity pools: a performance fee of at most 15%, only from the trading fees your positions earn. Never your deposit, never your price gains. It is taken only when fees are collected: withdraw · snuggle · harvest · compound.
  • Copy trading: up to 25% of earned fees, only when you copy another member's LP position.
  • Referrals: refer as many friends as you like. Your own performance fee drops 1% for every friend who joins with your link and keeps an open position worth at least $500, with no cap (it can reach 0%, never below). If a friend closes all their positions, your fee goes back up 1% until they reopen. Each friend still pays 15%, and 1% of each active friend's fee is routed to you.
  • No protocol fee to deposit, withdraw, harvest, compound or move your range, and no yearly fee on your deposit. You pay the network's gas on transactions you send. When our bot (the keeper) moves your range for you, in a snuggle, it pays the gas.
  • Fee increases wait 48 hours in public before they can apply, and the default rate can move at most 5 points per 6 hours.
01 · The charge

The fee in one line

Traders pay your range a fee each time they swap through it. On your liquidity positions, QuantumPools keeps at most 15% of those fees. That is the whole bill. The one higher rate is copy trading: up to 25%, only when you copy another member's LP position.

Nothing else about your position is charged. The contract tracks, for each position and each token, how much in fees you have earned and how much has already been charged. It only charges the difference, so each fee dollar is charged once.

Which parts of a position are chargedThree boxes. Your $6,000 deposit is not charged. Price moves up or down are not charged. The $440 of trading fees collected is the only part with a 15% fee: $374 to you, $66 fee.Your deposit$6,000Not chargedPrice movesup or downNot charged$374 yours$66 feeTrading fees$440 collected15% fee
What gets charged: only the right-hand box. The deposit and the price of your tokens are never part of the math.

Today's 15% was read from the live vault on 23 September 2026. It is public on the vault as performanceFeeBps (1500 = 15%). If a wallet has its own rate, that is public too, as userFeeBps(address) (0 means the default applies), and feeExempt(address) means 0%.

What each step costs you

No step has a protocol fee of its own. The 15% is worked out only when a step collects trading fees. Until then, fees sit in the pool, uncharged.

A worked example

Here is the whole calculation, start to finish, for one position.

Example

Put $6,000 in. By the time you pull out, traders have paid your range $440. The math:

fee = $440 × 15% = $66
you keep = $440 − $66 = $374
charged on the $6,000 = $0

Say your tokens also rose 9% in price over that time. The fee is still $66. Price gains are not fees.

Where each $100 of fees goes

On-chain split: inside the vault, the 15% cut is divided between the protocol treasury and, only if one is set, the vault's on-chain referrer slot (see Referrals; this is not the member referral program). Your share is the same either way.

On-chain split of every $100 in trading feesTwo stacked bars. Today, with the on-chain referrer slot empty: $85 to you, $15 to the treasury. If the on-chain referrer slot is set: $85 to you, $12 to the treasury, $3 to that referrer.Todayno referrer set$85 stays with you$15Referrer setsame cost to you$85 stays with you$12$3 referrer$0$50$85
On-chain split of $100 in fees: the on-chain referrer's $3 comes out of the protocol's $15, never out of your $85.
  • You
  • Protocol treasury
  • On-chain referrer slot (only if set)

Try your own numbers

Move the sliders. The rates inside are the contract's own: 15% overall, and 3 of those 15 points to the vault's on-chain referrer slot if one is set. That toggle is the on-chain split, not the member referral program below.

When the fee is taken

Here is how one pile of fees gets charged across several collections.

Fees earned versus fees already charged over 30 daysA straight line shows fees earned rising to $120 over 30 days. A staircase below it shows fees already counted for the fee, stepping up at a snuggle on day 10, a harvest on day 18 and a withdrawal on day 30. The gap between them is fee income still in the pool.$0$60$120day 0102030in the pool, not yet charged123
Charged once: the staircase only climbs when fees are collected, and never past what was earned. Simplified: a real position earns nothing while it sits out of range waiting for its snuggle, so the blue line would go flat just before day 10.
  • Fees earned
  • Fees already counted for the 15%
  • Waiting in the pool
MomentFees collectedFee (15%)Yours
1 · Snuggle, day 10$40.00$6.00$34.00
2 · Harvest, day 18$32.00$4.80$27.20
3 · Withdraw, day 30$48.00$7.20$40.80
Total$120.00$18.00$102.00

Three collections, one $120 pile, exactly 15% charged. A snuggle gives your position a new ID, but the tally moves with it, so the new position never re-charges old fees. What happens to "yours" after the fee (compound it, send it to your wallet, or a split) is your fee setting. See Configuration. The fee is the same whichever you pick.

Can the fee change?

Yes, within limits. Every owner change waits 48 hours in public first. It has never been changed since launch.

Default rate: biggest single change5 percentage points, up or down
Default rate: how oftenAt most one change every 6 hours
Per-wallet rateThe owner can set one wallet's own rate in a single change. The 5-point and 6-hour limits do not apply here, but the change still waits 48 hours in public. The keeper can only lower a wallet's rate, never to 0, and that takes effect right away.
Who can change itA wallet that needs two signatures (a 2-of-2 multisig), and even then the change has to wait 48 hours in public (a timelock) before it can apply
The fastest the default fee could riseA step chart over 60 hours. The default fee stays at 15% for the first 48 hours of public notice, then can rise by at most 5 points every 6 hours: 20% at 48 hours, 25% at 54 hours.0%15%0 h12 h24 h36 h48 h60 h48 hours in public. Nothing can apply yet.today: 15%+5+5at most +5 every 6 h
Worst case for the default rate: even if every allowed increase were queued at once, the first one lands after two days of public notice, and each later step waits at least 6 hours more. A per-wallet rate is different: the owner can change one wallet's rate in a single step, which still waits 48 hours in public.

Compared with a typical manager

Many liquidity managers charge in more than one place. The big one is easy to miss: when some managers move your range, they swap tokens, and each swap has its own costs. QuantumPools moves your range (a snuggle) without swapping at all.

Typical LP managerQuantumPools
Swap fee when the range is movedCan applyNone. The contract has no swap path.
Slippage when the range is movedCan apply, if it swapsNone from swapping
Bots that trade just before and after your swap (sandwiching)Can apply, if it swapsNo swap to sandwich when the range moves. Snuggles are still public transactions in a live pool, so normal pool-level MEV and price risk still apply.

The middle column is a general picture, not a claim about any one provider. Terms vary, so check each manager's own docs.

Low fees are not the same as profitA cheap position can still lose money if price moves away and stays away. See impermanent loss and the risks.

Referrals

Refer as many friends as you like. There are two rewards, and neither is an extra charge to your friends:

Your own fee1% lower for every friend who joins with your link and has an open position worth at least $500. If they close all their positions, your fee goes back up 1% until they reopen. No cap: 4 friends take you from 15% to 11%, 10 friends to 5%, 15 or more to 0% (the floor; it never goes negative).
Routed to you1% of each referred friend's performance fee while they have an open position, no limit on how many friends.
Your friendsPay the normal 15%. The 1% routed to you comes out of that 15%, not on top of it.

Friends count only while they have an open position worth $500+ (this threshold can change); we recheck regularly. Referrals that look like the same person, for example the same network or device as the referrer, don't count. Your lower fee is applied on-chain by the keeper; the 1% routed share is credited to your referral ledger now and paid on-chain once the vault upgrade that supports per-friend referrers is live. Get your referral link on your profile.

The on-chain referrer slot

Separately, the vault contract has a referrer slot of its own. It is not the member referral program above. It works differently from most referral programs, and right now it is empty.

How many referrersOne address for the whole vault, not one per user
Who sets itOnly the contract owner, through the 48-hour timelock. Users cannot set or pick this on-chain referrer, so self-referral through it is not something a user can do.
Its share3 of the 15 points by default (3% of fees collected), taken out of the protocol's cut
Extra cost to youNone. You keep 85% either way.
Permanent? No. The owner can change or clear it.
Right nowNot set. All of the 15% goes to the treasury.

If the treasury or the on-chain referrer can't receive a payment, the vault holds it for them to claim later. Your withdrawal still goes through.

The on-chain numbers on this page (today's rate, per-wallet rates and the on-chain referrer split) can be read from the live vaults on Robinhood Chain (chain ID 4663), Base (chain ID 8453) and BNB Chain (chain ID 56). Public deposits are open on these live venues.

Questions

My position lost value. Do I still pay the fee?

If it collected trading fees, yes: 15% of those fees (up to 25% on a position you copied from another member). The fee looks at fees earned, not at whether the position is up overall. To see if your fees are beating price losses, check your Cover Value.

If I compound, am I charged again later?

No. Fees are charged once, when collected. After you put them back in, they are part of your position, and your position is never charged. Only new fees they earn count later.

Which token is the fee paid in?

The same tokens your fees were earned in. The contract tracks each token separately and never swaps to pay the fee.
